Maps

The point of early pre tourism maps was to ensure the most efficient & logistical routes beginning probably with military speed & efficiency the main focus, however these same principals also translate to holiday touring except that the points along the route are sights & features to visit rather than infiltrate.

The main aim of a planned map is for an informed tour, not to visit everything but to know some of the available options along the way.

The maps below are just examples from a range of over a hundred such maps which have been put together over a number of years.  Several routes have many options, for example there are 5 maps which can be mixed & matched to make the 2 & 3 day Connemara tours.

Our 14 stage round Ireland plan has a choice of over 20 routes in short balanced stages. With the wide choice of sights & features available along most routes it is rare for more than one individual tour to follow the same path, with of course the rare exception of the "Off the Shelf"  self drive itineraries.
